MKC Heroes in North Yorkshire
MKC Heroes (Formally HMS Heroes) is a national support group for the children of Service men and women and their relatives. A tri-Service network of after-school clubs, MKC Heroes brings together members of Service families aged between three and 18 years old from all over the country. Our members are ambassadors and young advocates for Service families across the United Kingdom, and most importantly, they are friends who are there for each other, especially in times of need.
In North Yorkshire we have more than 40 schools who are members of MKC Heroes. The Service Pupils' Champions organise the annual Service to Remember for North Yorkshire's Service Children and MKC Heroes at Ripon Cathedral, during the two North Yorkshire MKC Heroes Standards are paraded with the Standards from the Royal British Legion. This annual event has become a staple in the North Yorkshire school calendar, with 800 children gathering together to Remember and to celebrate the unique lives of our Service Children
